(PART 1) THE MANDATE FOR PALESTINE:
The Modern Jewish Land Deed
WHAT IF...the person who told you Jews stole land and are occupying it in violation of international law was lying or misinformed? I know it sounds hard to believe, but would you want to know? You can. Right here. Right now.
WHAT IF…the 'solution' to achieving true peace with Arab 'Palestinians’ is to stop focusing on solutions, and focus on truth and justice instead? This series will free your thinking, and give you the hope and tools you're looking for.
Here, in Part 1, I will recount the incredible true history of Israel’s land rights which were recognized by the world in 1922 under international law in what I call ‘the modern Jewish land deed’: the League of Nations Mandate For Palestine.

Jews have always been the Palestinians
In 1922, after consultations with Arabs, Jews and representatives from the Principal Allied Powers who won World War I at the 1920 San Remo Conference, all land west of the Jordan River, including Judea, Samaria and Jerusalem, was recognized by the world as being part of “the Jewish national home” under international law called the League of Nations Mandate For Palestine and the attached Note Relating to Trans-Jordan:
The Mandate For Palestine is written in clear, easy-to-understand language that even the most rabid Jew-hater can understand. It’s clearly-stated purpose was to acknowledge that the Jewish people have a long history in the region, and to authorize and encourage them under international law to rebuild (actually, the word used is “reconstitute”) their “national home” with help from Great Britain.
But, why would they call it ‘Palestine’? Isn’t that proof that the British helped Jews steal land from the ‘Palestinians’? LOL..no! That easily-disproven bald-faced lie goes to the very core of one of the greatest hoaxes in human history…that Jews are illegally occupying Arab land.
The vast majority of Je…er, Zionist haters have no idea of how the name ‘Palestine’ came about and why. Around AD 135, Roman Emperor Hadrian was so very annoyed by Jewish rebels who had fought his army during the Bar Kohkba Revolt from AD 132-135 that he wanted to erase Jewish history forever. He renamed the land of Israel as Syria Palaestina after the Jews’ worst enemies, the Philistines, who had settled in what is now Gaza. The Philistines were not Arabs; they were seagoing people who no longer exist. Muhammed, Islam and their colonialist invasions launched from Arabia were still 500 years into the future.
This attempt to destroy Jewish history by renaming their homeland as ‘Palestine’ meant that from Roman times until at least 1948, when the modern state of Israel was reborn, the word ‘Palestine’ meant the Jewish homeland, which is why the modern Jewish land title deed from the world is called the Mandate For Palestine. So, it’s sadly amusing to see Je…er, Zionist haters today pointing to the prior existence of ‘Palestine’ as proof that Jews stole their land. Antisemites are not very historically literate.

Mandate For Palestine: THE PREAMBLE
“Whereas recognition has thereby been given to the historical connection of the Jewish people with Palestine and to the grounds for reconstituting their national home in that country..”
In these few words, the world officially recognized under international law that the Jewish people have a strong history in the land of Palestine (renamed as such in AD 135 by Romans trying to erase Jewish history as discussed above). Second, the world saw this history as grounds for “reconstituting their national home” in Palestine. Acknowledging Palestine as the Jewish homeland wasn’t a mere gift to Jews; it was a recognition that they were and are the rightful owners of the land, and that they should rebuild what was theirs. This one paragraph alone completely dynamites the ‘stolen land’ blood libel nonsense.
The preamble notes that Great Britain had agreed to be the Mandatory, accepting the solemn fiduciary responsibility for ensuring that the world’s intentions expressed in the Mandate were fulfilled for the benefit of the Jewish people.
“Whereas His Britannic Majesty has accepted the mandate in respect of Palestine and undertaken to exercise it on behalf of the League of Nations…”
But, wait…there’s more. There are a number of articles in the Mandate that speak to actions the Mandatory is to take for the benefit of the Jewish people, but only two are critical to this discussion:

Mandate For Palestine: ARTICLE 6
Article 6 speaks to Jewish immigration:
“The Administration of Palestine, while ensuring that the rights and position of other sections of the population are not prejudiced, shall facilitate Jewish immigration under suitable conditions and shall encourage, in co-operation with the Jewish agency referred to in Article 4, close settlement by Jews on the land,…”
Got that? “…shall facilitate Jewish immigration…and encourage…close settlement by Jews on the land…” In other words, His Britannic Majesty—working with the Zionist Organization—was required to help Jews immigrate to their national home AND to closely settle the land.
So much for Jews stealing land. Now, you know why the Jew-hating protesters and professors never told you about the Mandate. And, we’re just getting started.

Mandate For Palestine: ARTICLE 25
OK, but what did the world decide should be the borders of the Jewish national home? Enter the amazing Article 25 of the Mandate For Palestine and the attached Note Relating To Trans-Jordan:
“In the territories lying between the Jordan and the eastern boundary of Palestine as ultimately determined, the Mandatory shall be entitled, with the consent of the Council of the League of Nations, to postpone or withhold application of such provisions of this mandate…”
How can that be ‘amazing,’ Mark? The clause says we Jews might not get any of our historical homeland east of the Jordan River, and we didn’t! That’s true, but it’s amazing because that one simple clause also confirms that the borders of present-day Israel are the lawful, recognized borders of the Jewish national home under international law. In other words, the world recognized that Jews owned all land west of the Jordan River and…had a rightful claim on some amount of land east of the Jordan.
The World Zionist Organization (WZO) did claim, before the post World War I San Remo Conference of 1920, about 10 miles of land on the eastern side of the Jordan River that corresponds to the tribes of ancient Israel, but the world decided to reserve everything west of the Jordan as Jewish land, and everything east of the Jordan for the possible ownership of Arabs.
Some pro-Israel folks will argue that all of Jordan was part of Palestine/Israel. My mentor, Salomon Benzimra, author of The Jewish Peoples’ Rights To The Land of Israel, believed it was only about 10 miles on the east side of the Jordan. The WZO believed the same, and so did Lawrence of Arabia, as shown on a map he drew for the British government in 1918. The entire map is massive, but you can clearly see from the snip that in the mind of Great Britain, Palestine included some land on the east of the Jordan, but not all of Trans-Jordan, which is why Article 25 was written in the manner it was. Clearly, Palestine was never considered to be an Arab land:
In actuality, the amount of Jewish land given to Arabs on the east side of the Jordan River doesn’t really matter at all unless one wants to make a case for expanding Israel’s borders eastward, which is not happening, and no one is seriously arguing that it should. What does matter is that the world clearly recognized that Jewish land absolutely went at least as far as the west side of the Jordan River to include Judea, Samaria and Jerusalem.
In other words, the current eastern border of Israel is in strict accordance with the League of Nations intent as expressed in the Mandate which did NOT include the Golan Heights Syria in the north. Later, however, Israel would annex the Golan Heights after repeated invasions and terrorism by Syria.

Mandate For Palestine: ‘NOTE RELATING TO TRANS-JORDAN’ ATTACHMENT
Later in 1922, the Mandatory (Great Britain) exercised its Article 25 right to withhold Jewish settlement on the east side of the Jordan River in an attachment to the Mandate called the “NOTE BY THE SECRETARY - GENERAL RELATING TO ITS APPLICATION TO THE TERRITORY KNOWN AS TRANS-JORDAN, under the provisions of Article 25.”
“The following provisions of the Mandate for Palestine are not applicable to the territory known as Trans-Jordan, which comprises all territory lying to the east of a line drawn from a point two miles west of the town of Akaba on the Gulf of that name up the centre of the Wady Araba, Dead Sea and River Jordan to its junction with the River Yarmuk; thence up the centre of that river to the Syrian Frontier.”
The final eastern border of the Jewish national home, therefore, runs from Eilat on the Red Sea, north through the Jordan River. The eastern border of Palestine/Israel clearly includes ALL of Judea and Samaria and—with it, Jerusalem—land that is often incorrectly called the West Bank. ‘West Bank’ was the term used by Jordan for Jewish land it conquered during the illegal 1948 invasion of Israel after she declared independence. It was liberated by the Israel Defense Forces in 1967, restoring Israel to the borders set by the world in the Mandate For Palestine in 1922.
But, what about Jerusalem? The world’s framers of the Mandate could have segregated Jerusalem into Jewish and Arab cities, but they chose not to do so, likely because Jewish land on the east side of the Jordan River was given to Arabs who got the vast majority of the Middle East via other Mandates and processes.

No, it’s not the ‘British’ Mandate
Some pro-Israel people unintentionally diminish the significance of the Mandate For Palestine by referring to it as the ‘British Mandate for Palestine’ or the ‘British Mandate of Palestine. This is somewhat understandable given that Britain agreed to be the Mandatory power with the fiduciary duty of carrying out its provisions on behalf of, and in conjunction with, the Zionist Organization. However, referring to the Mandate as a British document minimizes its incredible significance as a document of international law, making it easy to dismiss it as one country’s misguided attempt to give Jews what was not theirs. No…it was the world’s mandate which is why it is called the “League of Nations Mandate For Palestine.” The words ‘British’ or ‘Britain’ do not appear on the title page.
The ORIGINAL two-state ‘solution’ failure
The exercising of the Mandate’s Article 25 in 1922 divided Jewish land to create part of what is today the state of Jordan in what can properly be described as the ‘original’ two state solution. And that should have been the end of it with the Jews and Arabs living happily side-by-side in their respective states.
Unfortunately, the world quickly forgot about its promises and obligations to the Jewish people, and the betrayals of international law began, including the invasion of Israel in 1948 by 5 Arab states. Jordan was one of those states, and it illegally occupied Judea and Samaria, renamed it ‘West Bank’ and ethnically-cleansed Jews from the region. It was liberated from Jordanian occupation in 1967 by the Israel Defense Forces during the Six Day War.
Britain: The Great Betrayer
The most egregious and bloodiest betrayal of all was the British refusal to honour her Article 6 obligation to facilitate Jewish immigration into the Jewish national home.
Arabs were not happy about Jews having a state, and committed atrocious acts of violence against Jewish civilians with the British military unable and/or unwilling to stop them. Instead of protecting Jews, the government of Great Britain made a terrible and fateful decision to try to appease Arabs by betraying their fiduciary Article 6 duty to facilitate Jewish immigration before, during and after the Holocaust.
Anti-Jewish persecution by Germany escalated dramatically with the 1935 Nuremberg Laws that excluded Jews from society, but on the eve of the Holocaust, Britain tried to appease violent Arabs with its 1939 White Paper which, in contravention to her obligations under the Mandate For Palestine, severely limited Jews from entering Palestine, the land recognized by the world as their “national home” less than two decades before.
No one can determine exactly how many Jews perished because of the British betrayal, but it seems fair to put the number in the millions. Britain could have saved countless Jews had she simply honoured her fiduciary Mandate For Palestine duty to facilitate Jewish immigration in the years leading up to the start of World War II. Ironically, the despicable attempt to appease violent Arabs at the expense of Jews backfired horribly as they supported the Nazis against Britain.

Sadly, even after the Holocaust, Great Britain compounded the tragedy by continuing to illegally refuse entry to Palestine of the surviving Jews, going so far as to intern tens of thousands on Cyprus. The Leon Uris book and movie classic, Exodus, dramatizes the efforts of Jewish patriots in helping fellow Jews escape to Palestine/Israel. Curiously, however, the movie completely omits all mention of the Mandate For Palestine and the British betrayal. Viewers are left wondering why Jewish militants are attacking the British soldiers who just won the war against the Nazis. This inexplicable failure to teach and convey critical Jewish land rights history will be a common theme in understanding why the ‘Palestinian’ propaganda about ‘stolen land’ has been so effective, as we will discuss in Part 2.
The contemporary Canadian, Australian, French and UK betrayals
In 2025, the UK committed yet another despicable betrayal of Jews and international law when it joined Canada, France and Australia in rewarding ‘Palestinian’ terrorists with recognition for a state despite the bloody atrocities committed for decades against the Jewish state which culminated in the the rape, kidnapping and slaughter of Israeli communities bordering Gaza on October 7/23.
As founding members of the League of Nations, the UK/Britain, Canada, Australia and France (and many others) were party to the 1922 League of Nations Mandate For Palestine in which Palestine/Israel was recognized as the “national home” of the Jewish people under international law. Therefore, the recognition granted in 2025 by those countries to ‘Palestinian’ terrorists as having claim on any land west of the Jordan River was illegal and immoral.
America was not part of the League of Nations although Woodrow Wilson received a Nobel Prize for his idea of creating it with the goal of ending colonialism. Even though the United States was not a member of the League, the Mandate For Palestine was ratified on March 13, 1924 by the US Senate in the form of the Anglo-American Convention, also known as the Rights in Palestine Convention [pp417-426]. The treaty reprints the text of the Mandate in full.
Following the recognition announcement…made while Israeli hostages were still underground in Hamas terror tunnels…the Palestinian Authority demanded $2 Trillion in reparations from the UK. This was yet another masterful use of the principles of the Overton Window by Israel’s enemies. We will discuss this critical advocacy concept in Part 3, and apply it in Part 4, The Plan.
The UN betrayals
On October 24, 1945 the United Nations took over the reins of world affairs from the League of Nations that had created the Mandate For Palestine as well as numerous other mandates that led to independence for Syria, Lebanon, Jordan (partially created via Article 25 of the Mandate For Palestine), Rwanda, Burundi, Tanzania, Ghana, Togo, and various South Pacific countries.
Article 80 of the UN Charter was intended to protect the prior-existing rights of countries that were created by the Mandates process. Unfortunately, the protections of Jewish Mandate rights enshrined in Article 80 were conveniently forgotten as the UN evolved into an extreme anti-Israel organization. Curiously, it is only the borders of the Jewish state created via the Mandates system that are questioned today.
“Historical Context: The article was intended to safeguard the rights of peoples and states under prior international instruments, particularly the Mandate for Palestine (1922), which recognized the Jewish people’s right to establish a national home in Palestine. It was often referred to informally as the “Palestine Article” due to its relevance to that mandate.”
Brave AI response to ‘United Nations Article 80’ search, accessed March 08/26
In 1947, despite Article 80 and the land rights clearly delineated in the Mandate For Palestine and the Note Relating To Trans-Jordan, the UN proposed to divide Jewish land yet again with its Partition Plan that would see an insanely-convoluted and unworkable division of land into Jewish and Arab regions.

Desperate Jews fresh from the Holocaust and needing a place of refuge agreed but, thankfully, the Arabs said no. They would say ‘No!’ to more peace ‘solutions’ in the coming decades, but always Israel was blamed for not wanting peace.
Israel fulfilled the purpose of the Mandate For Palestine on May 14, 1948 when it declared independence on May 14, 1948. It was invaded by Arab armies the following day, provoking the Israeli War of Independence.
The great ‘Palestine/stolen Land’ hoax is born
Arab armies invaded and terrorized Israel repeatedly after independence, openly announcing their determination to push Jews into the sea and take their land. All were defeated. Then, in 1964, the Soviet KGB helped Egyptian-born Arab Yasser Arafat form the terrorist Palestinian Liberation Organization and, with it, a new ‘colonialist’ hoax that the Jews were illegally occupying the land of the ‘Palestinian’ people. It was breathtakingly brilliant in its audacity and strategy. Terrorism and later, even rape, torture, kidnapping and mass slaughter of innocents would be reframed as ‘resistance to occupation.’ A fake occupation.
The Arab perpetrators of genocidal wars, terror and ethnic cleansing against the Jews would try to convince the world that they—whose ‘Palestinian’ nation was created out of thin air in 1964— were the victims of Jewish ‘occupation.’ It was despicable. It was a massive hoax. And it was a spectacularly successful strategy.
The new ‘Palestinians’ committed innumerable acts of bloody terrorism over the decades. One was the massacre of 11 Israeli athletes at the 1972 Munich Olympics (four years later, the author served on a Canadian Forces security detail at the 1976 Olympics in Montreal that was on high alert after the 1972 atrocities). The world was horrified by the killings, but that changed over time with continuous lies about ‘stolen land,’ ‘occupation’ and ‘Israeli Apartheid.’ The ‘Israel Apartheid Week’ blood libel was, sadly, started at the University of Toronto. Foolish students believed the lies which spread around the world.
From AD 135, the ‘Palestinians’ had always been the Jews, but from 1964 onwards history would be rewritten and fabricated out of thin air and endlessly repeated to convince a gullible public that the Jews had come to Palestine to steal it after the Holocaust with help from a world with a guilty conscience. The Mandate For Palestine, the modern land title deed granted to the Jewish people was long forgotten in the bloody history of the region…even by Jews.
Gaza: the SECOND Two-State ‘Solution’ failure
In 1922 the world implemented the first ‘two state solution’ via Article 25 of the Mandate For Palestine that gave Jewish land on the east side of the Jordan River to help create Trans-Jordan. It was a failure in bringing peace; Jordan repeatedly participated in Arab invasions intended to exterminate the Jewish state. Gaza would become the second two-state ‘solution’ failure.
In 2005, Israel unilaterally withdrew from Gaza in an effort to bring about another two-state ‘solution’ so Jews could live in peace with Arab neighbours. She removed all Jews from the land, even the dead in cemeteries. Jewish greenhouses were left in working order so that the new Arab nation might have a future in agriculture. This tragically-misguided ‘solution’ began with the immediate destruction of the greenhouses by Arabs, the election of a Hamas government, and years of rocket attacks and terrorism. It ended on October 7, 2023 when Gazans raped, tortured, kidnapped and slaughtered their way through nearby Jewish communities.
NOTE: I visited several Israeli communities near Gaza during a 2019 Jewish National Fund Canada Educators Mission. I saw the stack of spent rockets behind the Sderot police station. The town had bomb shelters in the playground where residents had just 10 seconds to seek shelter from rockets fired from Gaza. 70% of the area’s children were showing some signs of trauma according to officials. Four years later in 2023 there would come abominable atrocities perpetrated by Gazans against their neighbours who had, in many cases, welcomed and employed them in their homes.
Rather than horror, revulsion and denunciation, ‘Palestinian’ terrorists received not only sympathy from the world, but state recognition from Canada, the UK, Australia and France while Israeli hostages were still in tunnels underneath Gaza. It was a nauseating, shameful display of a complete lack of moral courage by western countries that had fought Jew-hating Nazis of another era. But, it was also the inevitable conclusion to a wildly-successful decades-long propaganda campaign to demonize an innocent Jewish people and their nation. The ‘Palestinians’ proved to the world that extreme violence, grotesque atrocities, the rewriting of history, and the most outrageous lies against their victims could win world approval.
Arabs have been given Jewish land twice to form states, and both times it resulted in more Jewish blood, not peace. How many failed ‘solutions’ must Israel endure? Perhaps, it’s time to focus on truth, not solutions.
‘Palestine’ destroys its own narrative
In 1964, when the KGB and Egyptian terrorist Yasser Arafat schemed up the idea of the ‘stolen land/colonization’ narrative for use by the newly-formed Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO), they also created the original Palestine National Charter. Article 24, read now in hindsight, singlehandedly destroys the contemporary ‘Palestinian’ narrative:
Article 24. This Organization does not exercise any regional sovereignty over the West Bank [Judea & Samaria] in the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, on the Gaza Strip or the Himmah Area.
In 1964, Gaza was controlled by Egypt, and the ‘West Bank’ (Judea & Samaria) was controlled by Jordan which had participated in the 1948 invasion by Arab nations following Israel’s declaration of independence. Jordan illegally occupied land west of the Jordan River in violation of article 25 of the Mandate and the attached Note Relating to Trans-Jordan. The PLO declared that it did not make any claim on Gaza or Judea & Samaria because they were both controlled by Islamic countries at the time.
If the PLO Arabs had no claim on Gaza and Judea & Samaria, what exactly was the point of starting the terrorist organization? Clearly, the campaign begun against Israel was not to assert any valid claim on land so as to create yet another two-state ‘solution’ for the purpose of peace, but to exterminate Jews and their country in accordance with Islamic theology.
The evidence for this is made crystal clear in the 1968 version of the Palestine National Charter which was amended from the 1964 original to remove the article renouncing claims on Gaza and the ‘West Bank’ (Judea & Samaria). The reason for this is that Israel liberated Gaza from Egyptian occupation along with liberating Judea & Samaria from Jordan in the 1967 Six-Day War. Suddenly, Jews controlled all the land granted to them in the Mandate For Palestine for the first time, so the PLO terrorists needed to rewrite their charter to continue to justify the elimination of Israel.
Hamas Charter: Islamic colonialism and rabid Jew-hate
Years later, Hamas would make that same purpose very clear in its own original 1988 Charter (The Covenant of the Islamic Resistance Movement) by declaring itself the Muslim Brotherhood in Palestine governed by the Koran. The document rejects all peaceful solutions. Article 7 quotes a Hadith (Hadiths are recorded sayings & actions of Muhammed):
“The Day of Judgement will not come about until Moslems fight the Jews (killing the Jews), when the Jew will hide behind stones and trees. The stones and trees will say O Moslems, O Abdulla, there is a Jew behind me, come and kill him. Only the Gharkad tree, (evidently a certain kind of tree) would not do that because it is one of the trees of the Jews.” (related by al-Bukhari and Moslem).
Article 27 of the Hamas charter states, “The Palestinian Liberation Organization is the closest to the heart of the Islamic Resistance Movement.” Hamas and the PLO have the same goals: destruction of Jews and Israel for the glory of Islam.
Article 11 makes it plain that the purpose of the Hamas war against Jews is not to capture land stolen by Jews, but to re-conquer land that was taken from Jews in the past:
This is the law governing the land of Palestine in the Islamic Sharia (law) and the same goes for any land the Moslems have conquered by force, because during the times of (Islamic) conquests, the Moslems consecrated these lands to Moslem generations till the Day of Judgement.
All wars and terror against Jews and Israel are about Muslim conquest, not land justice for Arabs calling themselves ‘Palestinians.’
Summary
Great Britain agreed to accept the world’s mandate, set out in the League of Nations Mandate For Palestine, to help “reconstitute” the Jewish national home, including carrying out the critical mission of facilitating Jewish immigration and resettlement of the land. The borders set by the world in the Mandate included all of Judea, Samaria and Jerusalem.
Instead of honouring her obligations and respecting those borders, Britain betrayed the world and the Jewish people in the most despicable way possible by keeping Jews out of Palestine in direct violation of her own fiduciary obligation before, during and after the Holocaust. Countless Jews suffered and died because of that betrayal.
Imagine if Palestine had been open to Jews…how many might have survived Hitler’s death machine? Britain, to its everlasting shame, condemned them to death, and has never been held accountable by the government of Israel or her NGOs.Despite the worst efforts of the British government, on May 14, 1948, the Mandate For Palestine was fulfilled when Palestine declared independence and reverted to its proper ancient Biblical name of Israel.
Despite Britain’s treachery…despite all of the Jewish deaths for which she and Nazi Germany were responsible…the shattered people of Israel focused on rebuilding their nation and their lives in the years and decades that followed the Holocaust and independence. They successfully fought terrorism, bloody wars, and won against incredible odds. They built an amazing First World country.
Two separate attempts to create two-state ‘solutions with Jordan and with Gaza so Jews could live in peace with their neighbours have been made. Both were bloody failures because the terror and war against Israel is not about ‘stolen land,’ but about Islamic Jew-hate and re-conquest.
In 2025, the UK, together with Canada and France, betrayed Jews yet again with recognition for ‘Palestinian’ terrorists barely two years after Gazan monsters raped, kidnapped and slaughtered their way through Israeli communities on October 7, 2023.
Despite the most egregious atrocities committed against Jews, Israel is badly losing the counter-propaganda war because it, too, forgot about the Mandate For Palestine. She didn’t teach this magnificent document to its own people nor did she defend the rights contained within it against a hostile world. Instead, Israel focused on trying to appease monsters with foolish two-state ‘solution’ land giveaway schemes. This fed pure oxygen to the ‘occupation’ blood libel created by Yasser Arafat and the KGB. Unintentionally, Israel helped to perpetuate what is arguably the largest fraud in human history against itself and its people by focusing on solutions instead of truth.
The Palestinian Authority’s idea that the UK should be paying $2 Trillion in reparations is a very good one, but every dime of it should go to Israel in compensation for all the Jews who were terrorized and murdered because Britain/UK ignored international law and its fiduciary duties to the Jewish people, especially the six million who perished in the Holocaust. The world, via the United Nations should share the cost of those reparations.
In Part 2, Israel’s Greatest Strategic Blunder, I will explain the terrible mistake by Israel’s leaders in pursuing land giveaway appeasement schemes instead of teaching and defending her land rights in the Mandate For Palestine.
